Mural at Café Mezcal, Montreal

I’m thrilled to announce that I have completed a mural for the fantastic jewel of a restaurant, Café Mezcal, on Prince Arthur Street in Montreal. It features a woman dressed in the traditional Veracruz style (in honour of restaurant owner Sheila who comes from Veracruz!) looking off into the distance as the moon shines and the stars twinkle over a floral Mexican seascape. It is painted in the style of a stained glass window. Check out Café Mezcal for delicious, authentic Mexican food and my new mural!

Outdoor painting in Val David, Quebec

Two days, four paintings! This past Thanksgiving weekend, I visited Val David, Quebec, with artist Cleah Bunting. There, we painted the last of the autumn colours, outdoors, with fingerless gloves and winter boots to fight the cold. It was my first time painting outside, and I loved it. Painting out of doors is unpredictable. The paint dries faster, insects get stuck when they land on your artwork and passersby offer their opinions (sometimes, even in American Sign Language!
